How to Avoid Fasting Blood Glucose – It is Not Safe to Fast Blood Glucose Levels

Many types of glucose monitoring tests have been available for decades and can be used on a regular basis to monitor or measure blood glucose levels at any time. Eating foods high in carbohydrates, such as white bread or white rice, can cause your blood glucose levels to rise. Fasting blood glucose indicates that your body is using the sugar you are consuming and it requires more energy. With prolonged fasting, you will notice that your blood glucose levels tend to drop to more normal levels.

 

The problem with fasting blood glucose is that you are not getting your full blood glucose. When you eat food, your body breaks down some of that food into glucose and releases insulin into the bloodstream for processing. But if glucose levels drop too low, the body won't want to generate energy to break down sugar again, and instead will store excess energy in the form of fat. You will also need to get enough rest so that your body doesn't slow down the rate at which sugar is broken down in the bloodstream. The reason many diabetics have trouble losing weight is because their bodies will not function correctly if their blood glucose level is not regulated, so this method may not work for them. It is much better to use a combination of healthy eating and exercise.

 

Many people are unaware that they are being monitored by their doctor or that they are on a diabetic diet plan. If you are experiencing any symptoms, whether you feel hungry, dizzy, or you experience a craving for sweet foods or have blurred vision you should discuss your concerns with your physician right away.
